Know Millets Webinars 2020, Session # 01

Community centric approach – cultivation, processing, consumption

Monday, May 4th 2020. 3 PM to 4 PM (Indian Std Time)

Many of us are questioning the current food system. Some are working to change the current paradigm of farming and food systems to more sustainable practices. Some amongst these realize that the renewed interest in millets among the public presents an opportunity to steer our food and farming processes to a more just and equitable, and therefore sustainable basis.

In order to derive the nutritional benefits that millets offer, a shorter and tighter supply chain would be necessary. In this session, we shall see why this is the case and how a community centric focus follows from this. We shall also try and picturize what this would translate to for the producer communities, trading entities and consumer communities.

Anchor/Moderator: Kshithij, Presenter: Dwiji Guru.

From the session:

  1. a copy of the slides shared in the webinar
  2. the recording of the webinar on YouTube
  3. webinar in numbers
  4. Q & A (post session first cut)
